Bisphenol A has been used since 1957 to make plastics such as epoxy resins and polycarbonate plastics.
Its structure contains two phenol rings joined together by a carbon chain (as shown below):

The Man Made Human Chemical Store
Every Sunday, I enjoy sitting down to read the Sunday papers. In the UK, these are packed with supplements and mini papers. The largest on the market is the Sunday Times and there is really enough information in it to last a good week. A few weeks back, one of its supplements, (the Sunday Times Magazine …. I think it was) contained an excellent article.
The article dealt with chemicals inside us. It detailed a number of man made chemicals that are found in everyday items and that bio accumulate in our bodies…..
