Europe’s last primeval, virginal forest

Poland boasts the last primeval, virginal forest in Europe, which covers 1,500 square kilometres on the eastern side of the country bordering with Belarus.

Reporter, Rajan Datar went to visit what is now a world heritage site and home to a great deal of wildlife, including 500 bison who had faced extinction.

The hidden oil spill tragedy

As many as 546 million gallons of oil spilled into the Niger Delta over the last five decades, or nearly 11 million gallons a year, experts said.

Imagine BP’s Deepwater Horizon Gulf oil disaster happening every single year, with little or no public outcry, no media coverage, and all but silence from government and the companies involved. Welcome to Nigeria.

The only World Cup

So Friday is the beginning of the FIFA World Cup. Thinking I would like to give it a biology slant I looked for some interesting sites that could possibly be used for discussions on Eco friendly world sporting events and the issue of sustainability or perhaps look for diverse sites that could be used for a possible Group 4 project.
