Rain on Titan - March 23, 2010

There is a great TV programme showing here in the UK on the BBC at the moment “Wonders of The Solar System” – if you are in the UK you can catch up on any episodes you missed on the BBC iPlayer but if you are not in the UK you should be able to watch a couple of clips on the BBC micro site.

This weeks episode included some detail on Titan, one of Saturn’s moons. Titan contains an atmosphere and even has ‘rain’. Methane evaporates and condenses as rain. Due to the low gravity Methane rain drops are almost as large a table tennis balls!

This got me thinking, how viable could it be to have a design lab along the lines of ‘investigate the size of a drop’?

Does anybody have any suggestions?
